You're so busy taking care of the entire family that it's easy to forget about yourself. Read on for a few thoughts on caring for your family as well as yourself.

  • Make sure the whole family starts the day with a good breakfast. That's a big responsibility for busy families always in a hurry to get to work, school and other activities. But breakfast makes the morning - kids perform better in school and you're sharper at work. So take the extra few minutes to start the day right.
  • Look out for number one. Take time to take care of yourself by eating right. When you're at your best, you can do a better job of taking care of your family. Start the day with breakfast, and visit Calling All Women to learn more your nutrition needs as a woman.
  • Balance your breakfast. Use the Food Guide Pyramid and Food Guide Pyramid for Young Children to plan meals for the family, starting with breakfast. Foods closest to the base of the Pyramid - grains, fruits, and vegetables - help fill you up, supply energy, and offer important nutrients. Those closer to the top of the Pyramid - dairy products and protein foods like meat - offer protein and hard-to-get nutrients like calcium and iron. For a sensible breakfast, include choices from at least three food groups.

Cream of Wheat offers breakfast solutions for even the busiest families and provides an excellent source of Iron and Calcium to start the day off right. See our Mix In Ideas now for more options.
